Hunters Point Shipyard Artist Show held a show this past week-end. Among the artists in residence are Joseph Aponte and Marlin Ingram who have art that can be seen throughout Street Art SF but in a completely different style than they paint in the studio. I won’t tell you which pieces they have done that are on the blog ;) Often people think that studio artists who also have work on the street are cross promoting but that isn’t always the case. Marlin and Joseph’s street art is not an extension of their studio work. It is a completely different form.

In this exhibit, both of the artists were interested in raising awareness of toxins in the world around us. Marlin’s exhibit focused on the the frequencies that emit from cellphones while Joseph’s focused on raising awareness of the toxic waste dumped in hunters point.

I had never been out to the the old naval area in hunterspoint before and suggest you check out the space sometime. www.shipyardartist.com
